DISCLAIMER
Effective date: July 1, 2026 Last updated: July 1, 2026
Please read this disclaimer carefully before using KeyboardTesterOnline.com or relying on any information published on keyboardtesteronline.com.
1. Tool results are informational
The keyboard testing tools on this site measure keyboard behavior as seen by the browser using standard web APIs. Results are provided for diagnostic and informational purposes only.
Browser-based keyboard testing has inherent limitations that we document on each tool page. Key repeat events are capped by browsers at approximately 125Hz regardless of hardware polling rate. Latency measurements include human reaction time and cannot be used for hardware benchmarking. Some keys (PrintScreen, Fn, Touch ID) cannot be captured by any browser and are documented as such.
We do not warrant that tool results are perfectly accurate, complete, or free from error. Results may vary based on your browser, operating system, keyboard driver version, and connection type. A result from one browser on one day may differ from a result on another browser or after a system update.
Different browsers process keyboard events slightly differently. A key that shows a 28ms chatter gap in Chrome may show a slightly different gap in Firefox due to how each browser’s event loop handles keydown event timing. We recommend testing in your primary browser for the most relevant results.
Tool results are not appropriate for use as warranty claim evidence in legal proceedings without independent corroboration. For a warranty claim, our tool results can support your description of a problem but may not constitute definitive proof on their own. Contact the manufacturer directly to understand what evidence they accept for warranty claims.
2. No hardware repair advice
Content on this site describes common keyboard problems and their typical causes and fixes based on publicly available technical information and general engineering principles.
This content is educational, not professional technical advice. We do not know the specific condition of your keyboard. We cannot diagnose your exact problem remotely. Before opening your keyboard, replacing switches, or performing any repair, you do so at your own risk. Opening a keyboard may void its warranty depending on the manufacturer’s terms.
Soldering and desoldering involve hot tools and can cause burns or damage to your keyboard if done incorrectly. We describe these processes at a high level for educational purposes. If you are not comfortable with soldering, we recommend seeking help from someone with experience or a professional repair service.
If your keyboard is under warranty, contact the manufacturer before attempting any repair.
3. No professional advice
Nothing on this site constitutes legal, financial, medical, or professional advice of any kind. All content is general information only.
